CHERIE PARISI NOTCHES GNAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Junior forward Cherie Parisi (South Attleboro, MA/Attleboro) is the newest member of the Mount Ida College women's basketball 1,000 point club.  Parisi notched her 1,000 point off a free throw this past Saturday at hosting Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) member Suffolk University with 8:51 to go in the first half for her seventh point of the game.  She is the third player in the program's history to accomplish this amazing feat.

Parisi had her most successful season as a Mustang this year totaling 378 points.  She led Mount Ida in points per game (15.8), rebounds per game (9.5), and shooting percentage (.440) throughout the season leading her team to a 9-16 overall record, three victories better than last year.

Parisi powered the Mustangs with nine double-doubles during the year and nearly notched a triple-double against Lasell College on February 20th when she tallied 12 points, 11 boards, and seven blocks.  She scored a season high 27 points against visiting Albertus Magnus College back on February 14th

She also received player-of-the-week honors from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) this past week for the second time this season as well as Mustang-of-the-week on the Mount Ida College athletics website.

Congratulations to Cherie on this wonderful accomplishment!
