ELISE MCLEAR NAMED ATHLETE OF THE WEEK FOR WOMEN'S SOCCER
Senior captain Elise McLear (Swansea, MA/Case) scored the tying goal in a tough 2-1 loss in the final game of the season against Rivier College this past Thursday in Newton, Massachusetts on senior day. Elise has been an asset through the years because of her competitive attitude and will to win. She is a highly skilled player and an all around technically sound athlete. Her career statistics include 26 goals, five assists, and 57 points in 65 games played. Elise is fourth all time in goals score in the Mount Ida record books and sixth all time in points as well. She led the Mustangs three out of her four year career in goals. Elise has also been honored throughout her tenure with numerous accolades. Elise was selected to the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) all-conference first team in 2005 and second team all-conference in 2006 as well as NAC player-of-the-week honors on several occasions. She was also honored as the ECAC New England offensive player-of-the-week in 2006 and was recognized as the most valuable player for her team that same year. Elise will leave Mount Ida College with a degree in Sport Management. The women's soccer team wrapped up their season with an overall record of 3-11-2, 1-10-1 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).
