FRESHMAN JEILEEN RIVERA NAMED WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Freshman guard Jeileen Rivera (Springfield, MA/Springfield Central) led the charge for the Mustangs this past week helping her team notch two victories including their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) against St. Joseph College (CT) winning 79-66 this past Saturday on campus. Rivera tallied 12 points, six rebounds, and three steals against visiting non-conference Wheelock College earlier in the week winning 76-59. Against the Blue Jays from St. Joseph College (CT), Rivera netted a personal high 17 points along with six caroms and three steals. He ferocious defense, high intensity, and lightning quickness has sparked the Mount Ida College women's basketball team to a higher level of play that they'll look to resume in the coming weeks. The Mustangs will hosts non-conference Becker College this coming Tuesday starting at 6:00 p.m.
