WILL DANIELS SELECTED AS GNAC ROOKIE-OF-THE-WEEK
Mount Ida College men's soccer freshman Will Daniels (Bethany, CT/Notre Dame) was selected this week's as Rookie-of-the-Week for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) for his outstanding individual performances he showcased in last week's competition.
Daniels scored two goals, including the game winner, against visiting Norwich University in conference action last Thursday afternoon winning 4-2 in dramatic fashion. Daniels hammered an amazing 10 shots during the contest creating all kinds of problems for the Cadet defense.
Daniels has had an outstanding season with eight goals, an assist, totaling 17 points so far this season. This is the second time in 2009 that Daniels has been selected as GNAC Rookie-of-the-Week for men's soccer.
The Mustangs will travel to Suffolk University this Wednesday for more GNAC action starting at 6:00 p.m. Mount Ida beat the Rams in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament 1-0 in double overtime. Junior forward Simon Shallop (Sierra Leone, West Africa/International School of Conakry) poked in the game winner in the 101st minute for the win.
