LINCOLN/WATKINS COMBINE FOR MUSTANG-OF-THE-WEEK

Mount Ida College women's soccer junior captain Lindsay Lincoln (Clarksburg, MA/Drury) and football senior wide receiver Kyle Watkins (New Haven, CT/James Hillhouse) have been selected as this week's Mustang-of-the-Week.

Lincoln scored two goals in a 2-0 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory over hosting Rivier College this past Saturday. This was the Mustangs first GNAC win of the season and their three victory of the season tying last year's total. It was also the first goals Lincoln has scored in 2009 out of four throughout her career as a Mustang. Women's soccer will host Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) member Johnson & Wales University in a re-play game this Monday starting at 3:45 p.m.

Watkins broke the career touchdowns record (33) with an amazing TD catch towards the end of the first quarter in a 42-15 non-conference loss to visiting Springfield College this past Saturday. Watkins added to the total with an 85 yard kickoff return in the third quarter of the game as well. The record, that was set over three years ago by alumnus Antwan Harris from 2003-2006, includes 30 receiving TD catches and four returns. The Mount Ida football family will travel to Maritime College (SUNY) for a crucial Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) action starting at 1:00 p.m.
