DANIELS/BUNCH COMBINE FOR MUSTANG-OF-THE-WEEK

Mount Ida College men's soccer freshman striker Will Daniels (Bethany, CT/Notre Dame) and Mount Ida football sophomore running back Johrone Bunch (Meriden, CT/F.T. Maloney) have been selected as this week's Co-Mustangs-of-the-Week.  Daniels scored two goals, including the game winner, in a 3-2 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory against visiting Albertus Magnus College this past Saturday.  The Bethany, Connecticut native leads the GNAC in shots (52), shots per-game (52), and is now second in the conference in goals scored (8) after Monday's victory over pre-season GNAC champion favorite Norwich University, scoring two.  The Mustangs will host GNAC rival Lasell College on senior day this coming Thursday starting at 3:30 p.m.

For The second time as many weeks, sophomore Johrone Bunch has been selected as Mustang-of-the-Week.  Bunch has continued to prove why he is a serious candidate for Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) player-of-the-year honors with another outstanding performance in a 16-7 victory over hosting Becker College this past Saturday in ECFC action.  On 42 carries, Bunch rushed for 217 yards with a touchdown on 5.2 yards a carry for his second best rushing total of the season. 

There hasn't been a sophomore slump for Bunch surpassing 100 yards rushing in every game this season accept one (Bridgewater State - 66 yards) gaining 1,148 for a net of 1,072 in 2009.  He has averaged an amazing 178.7 yards rushing a game along with 10 touchdowns averaging 6.1 yards a carry.  He is ranked number one in the NCAA statistics national ranking system.  Bunch was also selected for the second consecutive week, as ECFC offensive player-of-the-week.  Mustang City will host Empire Eight powerhouse Springfield College this coming Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m.
