ISIAH BENJAMIN SELECTED AS MUSTANG-OF-THE-WEEK
Mount Ida College men’s basketball junior captain Isiah Benjamin (Windsor, CT/The Masters School) has been selected as this week’s Mustang-of-the-Week. This is the first time this season Benjamin has been honored with this award.
Benjamin led the Mustangs to a 1-1 record in two non conference contests over last week. Benjamin posted a double double with 17 points and 11 rebounds en route to a 66-63 victory over Newbury College. Benjamin also went for 13 points four assists and three rebounds in a 67-54 defeat to the University of New England.
Benjamin is the second leading scorer on the team this year averaging 14.3 points per game while leading the team in rebounds and assists averaging 6.3 and 5.0 respectively.
The Mustangs will travel to Emmanuel College for their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) bid of the 2010 season this Saturday in Boston, Massachusetts with tip-off slated for 1:00 p.m.
