ELIZABETH OLSZEWSKI NAMED MUSTANG-OF-THE-WEEK

Mount Ida College women’s tennis freshman Elizabeth Olszewski (Granville, MA) has been selected as this week’s Mustang-of-the-Week.  Since joining the Mustangs Olszewski has not lost a match in her collegiate career going 10-0 in singles and doubles play combined. 

Olszewski went 2-0 in her first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match up against visiting St. Joseph College (CT) last Saturday winning 7-6, 6-3 in singles competition.  Olszewski and teammate sophomore Amy Warner (Liverpool, NY) captured a 4-1 doubles victory in the same match en route to a 7-2 team victory. 

The following Monday she aided in another 7-2 win coming at the hands of visiting non-conference Eastern Nazarene College.   Olszewski snatched a win (6-2, 6-4) in her singles match and followed with another doubles victory winning 8-6 with Warner at her side. 

Olszewski and the Mustangs will host the final home match of a six game home stand that started the 2011 season against visiting GNAC foe Emerson College starting at 12:00 p.m. this Saturday.
