FRANK/CLOUTIER SELECTED TO GNAC FALL ALL-CONFERENCE
Two Mount Ida College student-athletes have been selected as all-conference players for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) for their outstanding individual performances through the 2010 fall season.
Mount Ida College women’s tennis freshman number one player Emilie Cloutier (Lewiston, ME/Lewiston) had an impressive first year under the direction of second year head coach John Nestel. Cloutier was honored with a GNAC second team all-conference selection holding an overall record of 9-3 in both singles and with doubles partner senior captain Jessica Lindquist (Killingworth, CT/Haddam-Killingworth). In their second year as a varsity program, the Mustangs qualified for the GNAC post-season falling to hosting St. Joseph College (CT) in the quarterfinal round.
Cloutier was not the only person recognized for all-conference honors, Mount Ida College women’s volleyball sophomore Devyn Frank (Mystic, CT/Fitch) was honored with a GNAC first team all-conference selection. This is the first time Frank has been selected to an all-conference team. She was number one overall in the entire conference for hitting percentage at .433. She tallied 221 kills in 104 sets played on 448 attempts with only 27 errors for the entire season.
Six other Mount Ida College student-athletes were honored with the GNAC Sportsmanship award for their respective team. One player from each team in all the fall sports played in the GNAC receives the sportsmanship award. Below are the recipients:
