BUNCH/KNIBBS SELECTED TO ECAC ALL-STAR TEAM
The 2011 season honors continue for two Mount Ida College standout football players following an impressive individual year statistically along with another stellar year under the direction of fourth year head coach Michael Landers.
Mustang senior running back Johrone Bunch (Meriden, CT/F.T. Maloney) and junior A.J. Knibbs (Spotswood, NJ/Spotswood) have been named to the 2011 Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECAC) Division III North Football All-Star team. This is Bunch’s second time as an ECAC selection while Knibbs collects his first.
Bunch, who was named the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference’s (ECFC) Offensive Player-of-the-Year for the second time in his four year career, was honored with an ECAC Division III All-Star first team selection. Knibbs was named to the second team after being honored as Co-Defensive Player-of-the-Year for the ECFC back in December.
Both Knibbs and Bunch, who were named Beyond Sports Network (BSN) All-American Finalists a month ago, were awarded the All-American honor last week through this organization as well. BSN promotes at the High School, College, and Professional level. The 2012 BSN All American Team is made up of the top athletes from the FCS, Division 2, Division 3, and NAIA.
