Michael Landers is entering his fourth season as Head Football Coach and Champs Life Skills Coordinator at Mount Ida College.  Coach Landers has compiled an overall record of 14-18 going 9-4 with the program heading into their third season as a member of the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC).  Landers led the Mustangs to the ECFC title game in 2009 falling to Norwich University.  Landers and the Mustangs landed their first ever post-season bid in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) North Atlantic Bowl falling against hosting Springfield College.

The Brockton, Massachusetts native comes to the Mustangs with an extensive background in football and a great deal of experience as a coach and recruiter.  "I want to develop a perennial winning tradition that the college and students can be proud of", said Landers.  "I want to put my players in a position where I'm preparing them for life, through football."

Landers began his coaching career at Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts, where he had numerous duties in the five years he spent with the football program.  His success as a Skyhawk was in 2003 as Co-Defensive Coordinator/Interim Head Coach where he led two all-conference and all New-England linebackers, one of whom set the school and conference career tackles record.

In 2004, Coach Landers served as the coordinator of the front eight/linebackers coach for Wesleyan University.  He took the team who was last in turnovers the season prior, to a team that led the conference in takeaways.

Landers moved on to Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts as the coordinator of the front seven/linebackers in 2005.  In 2006 as defensive coordinator, he helped the Bison rebound off a tough 0-9 record in 05' to a 5-4 record in 06'. It was one of the biggest turnarounds in the NCAA that year. Landers coached one of the top ranked defenses in the New England Football Conference (NEFC) during the 2007 season leading the NEFC in many statistical categories.

As an athlete, Landers was a Division I player for Georgia Tech on special teamsand as adefensive back.  He received his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Bridgewater State College in 2001.
