Third Season
Michael Landers is entering his third season as Head Football Coach and Champs Life Skills Coordinator at Mount Ida College.
The Brockton, Massachusetts native comes to the Mustangs with an extensive background in football and a great deal of experience as a coach and recruiter. "I want to develop a perennial winning tradition that the college and students can be proud of", said Landers. "I want to put my players in a position where I'm preparing them for life, through football."
Landers began his coaching career at Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts, where he had numerous duties in the five years he spent with the football program. His success as a Skyhawk was in 2003 as Co-Defensive Coordinator/Interim Head Coach where he led two all-conference and all New-England linebackers, one of whom set the school and conference career tackles record.
In 2004, Coach Landers served as the coordinator of the front eight/linebackers coach for Wesleyan University. He took the team who was last in turnovers the season prior, to a team that lead the conference in takeaways.
Landers moved on to Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts as the coordinator of the front seven/linebackers in 2005. In 2006 as defensive coordinator, he helped the Bison rebound off a tough 0-9 record in 05' to a 5-4 record in 06'. It was one of the biggest turnarounds in the NCAA that year. Landers coached one of the top ranked defenses in the New England Football Conference (NEFC) during the 2007 season leading the NEFC in many statistical categories.
As an athlete, Landers was a Division I player for Georgia
Tech on the special teams/defensive back squad. He
received his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Bridgewater
State College in 2001.

Third Season

Kevin Gilmartin is in his third season as the offensive coordinator with the Mount Ida College football program.
Gilmartin attended Williams College as student athlete and a four year starter on the football team. He graduated from Williams with a bachelor of arts degree in Political Science. His coaching career started in Division I as an assistant coach at Hofstra University, in Hempstead NY in 1994.
After leaving Hofstra University, Gilmartin became a defensive backs coach and then a quarterbacks coach at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY and served as the recruiting coordinator and Head Lacrosse Coach. Gilmartin coached at Hamilton from 1995 till 2000.
His next stop was as a head coach at Nipmuc High School in Upton, MA. When he left Nipmuc in 2007 Kevin became the school's leader in career victories.
In 2007, Gilmartin decided to go back to coaching at the college level as an assistant at Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts. He was named passing coordinator as well as the receivers coach.
He resides in Dedham, Massachusetts with his daughter

Fourth Season
Recruiting Area's: New York (Hudson Valley and NYC Metro Area), New Jersey, Ohio, Maine
Bill Liedy is in his fourth season as an assistant coach with the Mount Ida College football team and in his third year as director of football operations. His responsibilities are directed toward the offensive line.
Before joining the Mustangs, Liedy was an intern with the University of Richmond's football team in Virginia in 2007. He also served as an an assistant coach at Pace Univeristy in New York in 2004.
Liedy was an assistant coach at Olentangy High School, in Lewis Center, Ohio from 2005-2006, as well as several years at South Side High School in Rockville Centre, New York.
Liedy attended The Ohio State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in education. He earned his Master of Science in sport leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Coach Liedy is a coach-in-residence on campus.

Matt Minich will be entering his third season as an assistant coach for the Mount Ida College football program. He will be handling the defensive backs position and coach-in-residence.
Minich comes to the Mustangs from South Dakota State University where he served as a graduate assistant and was assigned to coach the tight ends and running backs. He was responsible for game day operations, scouting reports, film review, and the academic performance of the student athletes.
His playing experience dates back to 2002, while studying for his associates degree at Minnesota West. He was a two-time recipient of the conference academic award and voted Mr. Hustle as a sophomore.
Matt will be working as the academic advisor to the football team. His academic background is impressive. While a baccalaureate student, he is a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society, and National Scholars Honor Society. Minich studied abroad at Oxford University in Great Britain for a semester.
Matt received his Associate Degree at Minnesota West in 2004 and his Bachelor's of Science degree from SDSU in 2006. In 2008 he completed a Master's of Science degree from SDSU in 2008 graduating magna cum laude.
Matt will be a coach-in-residence in Wingate Hall and academic
advisor to the team.
Anthony Marsella enters his first season as wide receivers coach for the Mount Ida College football program under the direction of third year head coach Michael Landers.
This is Marsella’s second coaching experience at the division III level after a one year stint as wide receivers coach as Wesleyan University during the 2009 season. Marsella also brings a year of recruiting under his belt to the coach Landers and the Mustangs.
Marsella, who graduate from Wesleyan University in 2009 with a degree in Sociology, was a four year player for the Cardinals in the quarterback and safety positions.

Eric McKellick enters his first season as defensive line coach for the Mount Ida College football program under the direction of third year head coach Michael Landers.
McKellick was an assistant coach during 2010 spring ball for St. Anslem College for his first experience coaching at the college level in Division II. McKellick graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice for St. Anselm in 2010 was a four year player at defensive tackle for the Hawks.
A native Rhode Islander from Burriville, McKellick was selected as an All-State football player from Burriville high school in 2005.
