MEN'S BASKETBALL ROUNDS OUT SEASON WITH LOSS TO CONFERENCE RIVAL LASELL COLLEGE
The Mount Ida Men’s Basketball team dropped their season finale to Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) rival and neighbor Lasell College this past Saturday at the Lasell College Athletic Center in Newton, MA. The Mustangs finished their season with an overall record of 7-18 and 4-14 in the GNAC while the Lasers finished 17-8 overall and 14-4 in the GNAC heading to the conference tournament as the number two seed.

SENIOR JIMMY DRISCOLL NETS CAREER HIGH 17 ON SENIOR DAY IN LOSS TO ST. JOSEPH'S (ME), 79-70
Senior guard Jimmy Driscoll (Dennis, MA/Dennis-Yarmouth Regional) netted a career high 17 points on Senior Night in a tough 79-70 loss to St. Joseph’s College (ME) tonight at Mount Ida Athletic Center. The Mustangs would drop their overall record to 7-17, 4-13 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play, while the Monks bettered to 12-11, 10-6 in the GNAC.

SOPHOMORE DARREN MARTINEZ NETS SEASON HIGH 22 IN LOSS TO ALBERTUS MAGNUS
Due to a shaky first half, the Mount Ida College Men’s Basketball team dropped a tough loss to Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foe Albertus Magnus College 73-67 on Saturday afternoon in New Haven, CT. The Mustangs would fall to 7-16 overall, 4-12 in the conference, while the Falcons improved to 2-20, 2-14 in league play.

The Mount Ida College Men’s Basketball team hosted Emerson College this Tuesday night dropping a tough 88-70 loss. The Mustangs dropped to 7-15 overall and 4-11 in league competition while the Lions move to 19-3 overall and 12-3 in the GNAC.

The Mount Ida College Men’s Basketball team grabbed its third Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) win, their first on the road of the season, over Rivier College this past Saturday. Mount Ida improved to 3-10 in the GNAC and 6-14 overall as Rivier fell to 7-5 in the conference and 10-9 overall.

Leading at the break, the Mount Ida College Men’s Basketball team could not keep pace with the surging Eagles who shot 77 percent from downtown and took the 83-77 victory this Monday in Newton, Mass. The two teams are now tied in league standings fighting for the last tournament spot in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) with three wins a piece. The Mustangs fall to 5-13 on the season, 3-9 in the GNAC while Daniel Webster improves to 5-13, 3-10 in league play.

MIC would drop their overall record to 6-12, 3-8 in the GNAC while the Cadets would improve to 10-7, 6-5 in league play.

Junior center Otis Thompson (Gardner, MA/Gardner) had a career game with 30 points, 11 boards, and seven blocks leading the Mount Ida College Men’s Basketball team to a 100-90 victory over Suffolk University Thursday night. The Mustangs would notch their third Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) win (3-3) and better their overall record to 6-7 on the year. The Rams would drop to 2-12, 1-6 in the GNAC.

The Mount Ida College Men’s Basketball team traveled to Wheelock College last night tallying their second victory against the Wildcats this year winning 73-61. It wasn’t as exciting when these teams met last in Newton Centre on November 29 when junior center Otis Thompson (Gardner, MA/Gardner) won the game on a time expiring tip in. The Mustangs would lead the entire contest chalking up their fourth win of the season and their second consecutive victory bringing their overall record to 4-5, 1-1 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).

The Mount Ida College Men’s Basketball team hosted Eastern Nazarene College last night with the Crusaders taking home the 64-58 victory for the first time ever against the Mustangs. Eastern Nazarene improves their record to 3-4 while Mount Ida drops to 2-5 on the season.

The Mount Ida College Men’s Basketball team enjoyed their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory this past Saturday coming against Norwich University winning 70-60. The Mustangs, who went ahead by as many as 20, took the lead at the 5:17 mark in the first half and never looked back getting some outstanding individual performances in an all around effort.

It was a wild finish on campus during Mustang Madhouse last night with the Mount Ida College Men’s Basketball team winning on a tip-in buzzer beater by junior center Otis Thompson (Gardner, MA/Gardner) for the 54-56 victory against Wheelock College. The Mustangs improved their record to 2-3 while the Wildcats head home absolutely stunned their record dropping to 1-4 in their first season as a varsity team.

The Mount Ida College Men’s Basketball team suffered a heartbreaking loss to Brooklyn Polytechnic, 85-83, in a physical match-up that came down to the final 10 seconds of the game. The Mustangs would drop their season record to 1-3 overall as the Fighting Blue Jays would improve to 1-1.
