BUNCH/BLUM SELECTED TO WEEKLY HONORS FOR GNAC
Two Mount Ida College basketball players were recognized in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference weekly honors this past week (December 8, 2008). Freshman men's basketball player Johrone Bunch (Meriden, CT/F.T. Maloney) was the first Mustang of the year to be selected as rookie-of-the-week for the GNAC. Freshman women's basketball player Hannah Blum (Raleigh, NC/Broughton) was acknowledged in the weekly honor roll for the conference, also her first time.
Bunch had a solid overall week leading his squad to a 2-1 record. He also tallied his first double-double as a Mustang against Fisher College this past Friday night. Blum has proved herself so far this season with outstanding inside play. She tallied her first double-double of the season in a victory over Bay Path College this past Tuesday with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Both teams are done for this semester and will start action back up starting on Thursday, January 8, 2009 when the women's basketball team travels to non-conference Framingham State College with tip-off coming at 6:00 p.m. The men's team will host GNAC foe Norwich University on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 3:00 p.m.
