MOUNT IDA LACROSSE COACHES HEADED TO USL CONVENTION

Mount Ida College men's head lacrosse coach Andrew Fink and his staff were recently selected by US Lacrosse to present at the 2010 US Lacrosse Convention. This is the second consecutive year the Mount Ida men's lacrosse coaching staff are presenting at the convention. The convention, presented by Champion, takes place from January 15-17 in Baltimore, Maryland.

Fink along with assistant coaches Chris Widelo and Jason Shemenski will be presenting "Offense vs. Defense - Strategy and Adjustments."

The men's coaching staff is one of over 100 presenters that will speak over the weekend. Highlighting the list of speakers is coach, author, and ESPN analyst, Lou Holtz, who is serving as the keynote speaker to open the event.

As the Mustang's head coach, Fink has had the most success in the history of the Mount Ida lacrosse program. He has accumulated a 71-28 overall record, which includes a 45-1 mark in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC.)

Last season, Fink led the Mustangs to a sixth consecutive NAC Championship and a third consecutive NCAA Tournament bid. Under Fink's guidance, Mount Ida had players selected to the ECAC New England All-Star Team and the North-South All-Star Game for the first time in program history. He has additionally mentored 2 NAC Players of the Year and 29 All-Conference honorees.

The US Lacrosse National Convention provides the sport's largest educational opportunity, with over 5,000 coaches, officials, program administrators and vendors in attendance each year. For the fifth year in a row the convention will feature a "live field" area, sponsored by Warrior and Brine, to supplement classroom clinics for coaches and officials. Clinics are offered for all levels of coaches and officials, ranging from youth play up through college-aged players.
