FAMILIAR FACE LANDS AS MEN'S SOCCER HEAD COACH

The Mount Ida College athletic department is pleased to announce that Joseph Campbell, Intramural Director and Head women's soccer Coach will be the new men's varsity soccer coach at Mount Ida College for the fall 2010 season.  Coach Campbell is taking over as the second head coach in the history of the program replacing 21 year veteran Steve D'Arcy.

Joseph played semi-professional soccer in Ireland, his home country. He attended Mount Ida in 1993-1995 earning an Associate Degree in Exercise Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Framingham State College in 2006. He played for Coach Darcy meriting All New England First team honors in 1993, 1994 and has coached the game he loves for twelve years.

He was inducted into the Mount Ida College Hall of Fame in 2001 and was awarded the College's Coach-of-the-Year as well as the North Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year in 2001. In 2005 Coach Campbell took over the reins for Coach Darcy who had knee surgery and with his Dublin comrade and Mount Ida Hall of Famer, Aidan Byrne had a historic victory over cross town rival Lasell. The banner came home to the Mustangs and he promises with hard work there will be more to come.
