MEN'S VOLLEYBALL LOSES FOURTH STRAIGHT NECVA MATCH TO RIVIER COLLEGE

The Mount Ida College Men’s Volleyball team lost their fourth consecutive match this past Tuesday against Rivier College 3-0 in straight sets (12-30, 14-30, 19-30). The Mustangs would drop their record to 1-5 on the season including in the Northeast Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA).

It was another impressive outing for senior outside hitter Timmy Hughes (Holliston, MA/Holliston) notching 12 kills along with one solo block while showing off some serious power around the front of the net.

It was an improvement for the Mustangs with SophomoreHideaki Yuki (Miyagi, Japan) putting together a nice match for his team with outstanding effort with four kills and a hitting percentage of .286. Another positive for the green was freshman Shane Wilson (Gloucester, MA/Gloucester) who completed 21-22 perfect passes.

Freshman libero Hayato Kanesaka (Old Tappan, NJ/Northern Valley) would also enjoy eight well placed passes giving junior setter Bryan McMenamin (Warminster, PA/William Tennant) the opportunity to tally 18 assists.

Mount Ida will head down route nine to Newbury College this Thursday for a 7:00 p.m. start.
