MEN'S VOLLEYBALL TAKES SIXTH LOSS OF THE SEASON TO NEIGHBOR NEWBURY COLLEGE

another Northeast Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) match
against neighboring Newbury College this past Thursday night downed
3-0.
From the opening serve, the Nighthawks dominated the action over
the Mustangs and taking all three games in quick fashion (30-17,
30-20, and 30-12). Mount Ida would gain their only in the second
set going ahead on a 6-1 run. Unfortunately, that advantage would
be short lived while Newbury came hammering back to regain the
momentum for a victory.
Mustang Senior Timmy Hughes (Holliston,
MA/Holliston) continued to power the offense for his
team tallying 10 kills and three digs. Newcomers Shane
Wilson (Gloucester, MA/Gloucester) and
Brandon Powell (Turner, ME/Leavitt Area)
would chip in two kills a piece. Junior setter Bryan
McMenamin (Warminster, PA/William Tennant) would continue
to position his teammates with chances for points with 12
assists.
The Mustangs will travel to Southern Vermont College this weekend
to participate in their first NECVA tri-match of the season this
Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m.
