WOMEN'S LAX/SOFTBALL SET FOR GNAC TOURNEY FIRST ROUND

The Mount Ida College women’s lacrosse and softball teams have both made it into the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tournament for the first time in the history of either program this 2010 season. 

In their inaugural season, the Mount Ida women’s lacrosse program squeezed into the GNAC tournament as the fourth seed and will travel to number one seeded Emerson College Tuesday, April 21st, 2010 starting at 6:00 p.m. to play the Lions in the semi-final round at the Field at Rotch Playground in Boston, Massachusetts.  The women’s lacrosse program enjoyed a solid year going 8-5 overall and 4-4 in league play under the direction of second year head coach Peri Steere.

The Mount Ida softball team also made the GNAC tournament for the first time in the history of the program as the seventh seed under the direction of third year head coach Katie Zuman and will play hosting  sixth seed St. Joseph College (CT) in West Hartford, Connecticut Tuesday, April 21st, 2010 at 4:00 p.m.
