Amanda Shannon is in her first year as an assistant coach with the Mount Ida College women's basketball program.  She will aid fourth year head coach Jack Casey with all operations of the team. 

Shannon comes to the Mustangs after her first collegiate coaching experience at Division II Merrimack College as an assistant coach.  Shannon, who was a four year player and scholarship recipient, attended Merrimack for her undergraduate degree in Communication Studies with a minuor in Business Administration and Women's Studies. 

Shannon was a 1,000 point scorer at Merrimack and a two time All-Conference player selected as a Northeast-10 third team player in 2007-2008 and a second team player in 2008-2009.  She also served as captain during the 2008-2009 season.  

Amanda is a coach-in-residence a the College.
