The Mount Ida College women’s lacrosse team notched their third consecutive Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory over hosting St. Joseph College (CT) Wednesday afternoon winning 18-5 in New Haven, Connecticut. The Mustangs, who remain the fourth seed as of today in the GNAC standings, improve to 8-4 overall, 4-3 in league play.
The Mustangs saw junior’s Danielle Chuba (Wrightstown, NJ/Northern Burlington Regional) and Jen Thompson (Easton, MD/Easton) score five goals apiece to lead the visitors. Junior Kira Feeter (Keene, NH/Keene) was also outstanding with three goals and two assists. Freshman Stephanie Hill (Madison, CT/Daniel Hand) joined Feeter with three goals of her own and one assist. Junior Becky Tisbert (Cambridge, VT/Lamoille Union) netted two scores while senior Amanda Katon (Biddeford, ME/Biddeford) dished out one assist.
Mount Ida netminder Devyn Frank (Mystic, CT/Fitch) denied three Blue Jay shots in all 60 minutes of play good for her eighth victory of the season.
The Mustangs will host Simmons College this coming Thursday on senior day starting at 3:00 p.m.
