MUSTANGS DOMINATE DANIEL WEBSTER, MIC Racks Up 5 Goals

Rebecca Tisbert (Cambridge, VT/Lamoille Union) notched two goals and
Jamie Hurd (Gloversville, NY/Gloversville) added two assists leading Mount Ida past host Daniel Webster, 5-0 in GNAC women's soccer Saturday afternoon.

Katie Lorenco (Mattapoisset, MA/Old Rochester Regional), Brieanna Holiday (Dummerston, VT/Brattleboro Union) and Elise McLear (Swansea, MA/Case ) added single tallies as the Mustangs moved to 3-2 (1-1 GNAC) on the season. Daniel Webster remained winless, dropping to 0-5 (0-2 GNAC).

Meghan Begins (Jericho, VT/Jericho) earned the win in goal, registering two stops, while Becca Jordan (East Granby,Conn.) made 13 saves for the Eagles.

Tisbert put the Mustangs up at the 11:36 mark off a Michelle Alessi (Salem, MA/Salem) feed and McLear converted at the 43:32 mark off a Hurd pass for a 2-0 lead atthe break.

Lorenco upped it to 3-0 at 54:04 off an Andrea Wheeler (Harwinton, CT/Lewis Mills) corner kick and Tisbert followed at the 64:48 mark off a Hurd corner.

Holiday closed out the scoring tipping home a loose ball from 10 yards out with 5:46 remaining.

The Mustangs finished with a 14-3 shots on goal advantage.

Mount Ida travels to Simmons Monday for a 7:00 p.m. meeting.
