MUSTANGS LOSE THIRD GNAC MATCH-UP, Mustangs lose to Simmons

Senior captain Sarah Daniel scored a pair of goals to power Simmons past Mount Ida, 3-1, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference women's soccer action on Monday, Sept. 17 at the Winsor School Field.

Simmons (2-4-1, GNAC 1-0-1) struck first when Daniel converted off a long service ball from freshman Tara Moore in the 15th minute.

Mount Ida (3-2, GNAC 1-2) evened the score at the 30:47 mark when Kathy Tilton (Pembroke, NH/Pembroke Academy) knocked home a shot off a corner by Andrea Wheeler (Harwinton, CT/Lewis Mills).

The Sharks regained the lead with 7:13 to go in the half as Daniel tallied her second score of the game off a corner from freshman Brooke MacKenzie. MacKenzie providedinsurance with her fourth goal in the last three games 25 minutes into the second stanza.

Mount Ida will host the 6-0 Monks from St. Joseph's of Maine this Wednesday September 19 at 3:30 p.m.
