BOSTON, Mass. -- Four different Mount Ida women's soccer players scored their first career goals, and Mount Ida took a 4-0 lead by halftime en route to a 7-0 win over Wheelock College in non-conference women's soccer action on Monday afternoon.
The game turned in an eight-minute spurt in the first half, when Mount Ida turned a scoreless first half into a 4-0 lead.
Shannon Kelley (Bellingham, Mass.), Alyson Eldridge (Chesterfield, N.H.) and Lacey Perry (Westport, Mass.) each had a goal and an assist, with Perry feeding Morgan Rzonca (Bristol, Conn.) in the 22nd minute to open the scoring and then scoring her second goal of the year less than two minutes later.

The second half saw a strong start by the Mustangs when freshman Alyson Eldridge (Chesterfield, N.H.) put the ball just out of the goalies reach in the upper corner of the goal 13 minutes into the half. Mount Ida scored again three minutes later by a shot from Hailey Serino (Northwood, N.H.) off a cross from Eldridge. The Mustangs closed the game with the first career goal from Skylah Caruso (Plainville, Mass.) to give Mount Ida the 7-0 win.
