JEILEEN RIVERA PLACES FOURTH IN FULLER INVITATIONAL

The Mount Ida College women's cross country team placed eighth at the 2009 Massachusetts Maritime Academy's fifth annual Lt. Travis J. Fuller cross country invitational 5K this past Saturday.  The Mustangs had all five runners cross the finish line in their second race so far this season.

Mount Ida sophomore Jeileen Rivera (Springfield, MA/Springfield Central) notched fourth place with a time of 21:11 as the second Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) runner to finish.  The second Mustang to cross in 37th place was freshman Kammy Taylor (Norwood, MA/Norfolk Agricultural School) with a time of 24:28.  Four spots behind Taylor was Mount Ida's most-improved runner from 2008 junior Melissa Fuller (Woburn, MA/Woburn) in 42nd with a time of 25:18.  Mustang sophomore and newcomer to the women's cross country team was Danielle Chuba (Wrightstown, NJ/Northern Burlington Regional) in 53rd place with a time of 27:01.  The last Mustang runner to finish was sophomore Mairead Coleman (Cranston, RI/Cranston West) in 70th place.

The Mustangs will travel to the UMASS-Dartmouth Invitational this coming Saturday starting at 11:15 a.m.
